Visual UI Testing for React Components, a higher order component library & testing GraphQL container components

Testing the visual aspect of UI components can be a real pain -- often it's a matter of the designer checking to make things are pixel perfect. This manual process is not scalable and error prone. Chromatic is a tool that automates visual QA for the basic UI building blocks: components. I'm excited to try it out in my next project! I've definitely had some frustrating experiences where the visual aspect of an application is sub-par because I've introduced a bug or two 😬

More highlights in this week's newsletter:

  • Learn how to combine D3 & React to create amazing data visualizations
  • Set up a React project that harnesses the power of Typescript
  • Use a higher order component library that solves some frequently needed solutions in React applications

Happy coding (and Happy 4th of July to all you Americans out there! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ)
