Using TypeScript and React together

Happy New Year React fans! I hope 2019 is off to a good start for you. Have you set any goals for 2019 for yourself? One of my goals is to finish the book I’m co-authoring with Oleksii Trekhleb — JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures. The goal is to have it launched by March. Another goal of mine is to learn one new technology a month, hence the topic of this week’s newsletter!

TypeScript’s popularity has grown by leaps and bounds in the last couple of years. In the 2018 State of JavaScript survey, 46% of respondents indicated they had used TypeScript and would use it again. Another 34% of respondents said they had heard of TypeScript and were interested in using it. A whopping 80% of respondents are excited about TypeScript — that’s enough reason for me to investigate what all the excitement is about.

This week’s newsletter highlights articles, tutorials, and code that bring React and TypeScript together. I’m excited to see what happens this year with these two technologies.

Happy coding!
