Next.js, Blueprint.js and Jest

This week we are focusing on a couple of libraries that were recently launched and a couple of tutorials on testing React frameworks.

Next.js is a framework for server rendered React applications that aims to solve some of the issues developers in the past have encountered when developing apps and websites on Node. Many template languages and frameworks have come along, but the technical divide between frontend and backend has remained. Next.js is making strides to bridge that gap.

Blueprint.js is React UI toolkit. It is optimized for building complex, data-dense web interfaces for desktop applications. If you rely heavily on mobile interactions and are looking for a mobile-first UI toolkit, this may not be for you.

Jest is a JavaScript testing framework that has recently gained more traction due to a lot of major changes that have occurred in recent months. Kent C. Dodds wrote up a blog post highlighting some of PayPal's experience migrating to the Jest framework.

Happy Coding!
